Mould affects mental health too
The public health service (GGD) will research the mental impact of mould at home, such as stress, anxiety and depression.
✓ Adopted
Why this motion
Living with mould for a long time causes not only physical complaints but can also lead to stress, anxiety and depression. Residents who need help don’t always find it.
There is still too little insight into this mental impact. Low-threshold support and cooperation between health organisations and housing corporations are needed.
What the council asks
The city council asks the mayor and aldermen to:
- 1Commission research with the GGD into the mental impact of mould on residents, focusing on stress, anxiety and depression and using existing health monitors.
