Refugees’ stories on screen
The city sets up a video project in which refugees tell their own stories.

Why this motion
There is a growing lack of empathy for refugees, who have often been through severe trauma. Negative perceptions often stem from ignorance and distance.
Personal stories shared through digital media can reduce prejudice and strengthen social cohesion in the city.
What the council asks
The city council asks the mayor and aldermen to:
- 1Set up a video project in which refugees share their personal stories and experiences.
- 2Work with civil society organisations, filmmakers and refugees, and share the project widely through city channels and social media.
- 3Report back to the council on progress and impact within six months.
