Digital support that also reaches older people with a migration background

The city makes digital support for older people more visible, with extra attention for older people with a migration background.

Why this motion

More and more is digital, yet many older people struggle with digital systems and sometimes miss out on help with essential services. Those who can’t keep up digitally risk social isolation.

The city already offers support through neighbourhood teams and other initiatives, but not everyone knows about it. Better communication to this group makes city services more accessible.

What the council asks

The city council asks the mayor and aldermen to:

  1. 1Work with neighbourhood teams and civil society organisations to increase the reach and visibility of digital support for older people with a migration background.
  2. 2Investigate with these organisations how access to essential city services can become part of the digital skills offer for these older people.
