Poverty support schemes in one clear overview

A plain-language infographic of Amsterdam’s poverty support schemes, available online and offline.

Why this motion

Many Amsterdammers don’t know the schemes they are entitled to, and complicated information discourages people from seeking help.

Clear, user-friendly communication helps people faster. The city is already improving information via “Pak Je Kans” and a redesigned Amsterdam.nl.

What the council asks

The city council asks the mayor and aldermen to:

  1. 1Create a clear infographic of the poverty support schemes in plain language (B1), explaining what each scheme is for and its main criteria.
  2. 2Make the infographic available offline as well, for Amsterdammers who are less digitally skilled.
