Inclusion within the city organisation
After reports of discrimination within the city organisation, including in the Zuidoost district, Carla called for genuine culture change and for making better use of the knowledge of staff with a migration background.
What Carla did
Committee
On the inquiry following an anonymous report about discrimination, Alderman Groot Wassink agreed with Carla that culture change within the organisation is needed.
Motion
Motion 014 (Khan et al., with Kabamba): explore positive action in the city’s traineeships. Adopted.
Committee
On the follow-up approach to inclusion in the Zuidoost district: much time is lost because valuable people are not used well, and Zuidoost mirrors the whole city with 180 nationalities.
Commitment
Carla asked for dialogue processes following the Zuidoost example and culturally sensitive working methods in the organisation. The alderman: “a sympathetic idea”, to be included in the Inclusion and Diversity mandate, with a report back.
